Andrew has taught for over ten years at various theatre schools, including spending three months in Benalmadena, Spain, running and teaching a part-time theatre school and directing Howard Goodall’s musical Girlfriends for the Cumbria Institute of the Arts. He has a wealth of experience of working with young people in the performing arts and regularly takes masterclasses/directs/teaches and provides feedback to many respected educational institutions and stage schools all over the UK, including: Cumbria Institute of Arts, CPA Studios,The Leys School, Cambridge, Guildford School of Acting, Kellanne Masterclasses, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, PQA, Stagecoach Theatre Arts (various schools and events) and West End Masterclass.
Andrew has been a Director, Dramaturg and Developer for workshops, including working on Mabel Stark – Tiger Tamer (FTG Productions/Guildford School of Acting), Freaks (Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts).
Andrew created Arion Productions’ Portfolio Masterclasses, providing the next generation of theatre-makers with the opportunity to learn with industry professionals, including Jenny Galloway, Danielle Tarento, Abigail Matthews, Mark Gatiss, Anna Jane Casey, Annette Badland. A SPOTLIGHT ON…
Andrew Keates co-produced and was the season director for ‘A Spotlight On… The Landor Theatre West End Cabaret Season and Series’ which was an opportunity for well known musical theatre artists to share the music and stories that were important to them, both within their careers and their personal lives. It earned a solid reputation for the quality of its artists and their uniquely honest performances. It ran for two years as a 2 – 3 week season in January as well as a monthly series at the Landor Theatre.
