The full casting for the upcoming world premiere of Dark Sublime at Trafalgar Studios has been announced.
Written by Michael Dennis, Dark Sublime is a sci-fi comedy play that tells the story of Marianne, a sci-fi TV icon whose celebrity status is lower than before. When a fan wants her autograph, Marianne doesn’t want anything to do with him. But, as they start to learn about each other, Marianne learns that, just like sci-fi, time and space makes a healthy relationship.
Best known for starring in Star Trek: The Next Generation and other appearances in the Star Trek franchise as Counsellor Deanna Troi, Marina Sirtis will make her West End debut as Marianne. As well as appearing in the hit science-fiction show, Sirtis has played Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show and Ophelia in Hamlet.
She is joined by Mark Gatiss as the voice of a computer named Kosley. Gatiss’ theatre credits include 55 Days, The Recruiting Officer and Season’s Greetings, as well as television appearances in Doctor Who and Sherlock.
Kwaku Mills will play Oli in the production, also making his West End debut in Dark Sublime, with previous theatre credits including national tours of The End of Eddy and #GoodDog.
The cast is completed by Jacqueline King as Kate, Simon Thorp as Bob/Vykar and Sophie Anna Ward as Suzanne.
The production will be directed by Andrew Keates, designed by Tim McQuillen-Wright, lighting by Neill Brinkworth and Sound Design by Sarah Weltman. It is produced by Rigmarole Productions in associations with JWC Productions, M. Green Productions and Arion Productions.
Dark Sublime is at Trafalgar Studio Two from 25th June to 3rd August 2019.
