Andrew has taught for over fifteen years at many theatre schools, specialising in Acting, Acting Through Song/Song Presentation, Storytelling, Devising, Contemporary and Classical Texts as well as directing many different productions too, teaching a wide variety of ages from children to mature adults.

Andrew has been a Director, Dramaturg and Developer for workshops of new musicals, including:

Andrew came out as HIV+ on-stage at the Dominion Theatre in 2014 and has dedicated his life to the eradication of stigma surrounding the virus and can regularly be seen and heard in the national press discussing the issues that surround HIV/AIDS. A SPOTLIGHT ON…
Andrew Keates co-produced and was the season director for ‘A Spotlight On… The Landor Theatre West End Cabaret Season and Series’ which was an opportunity for well known musical theatre artists to share the music and stories that were important to them, both within their careers and their personal lives. It earned a solid reputation for the quality of its artists and their uniquely honest performances. It ran for two years as a 2 – 3 week season in January as well as a monthly series at the Landor Theatre.

Andrew revived and developed multi Olivier award winner Jenny Galloway’s one woman show for a one night only performance at the Landor Theatre.
