In 2019, I directed Marina Sirtis in London’s West End in a play called Dark Sublime by Michael Dennis. The production was a great success and solidified our friendship. After the show, Marina was due to return to the USA to reprise her role as Deanna Troi in Star Trek: Picard. We hugged on Shaftesbury Avenue and Marina went home to film just days later. Before the series aired, Marina faced a tragedy, but we were separated by oceans. When I watched Picard and saw Marina appear for the first time, it felt fitting the first thing she did, was have a hug by a friend as we did when I last saw her – it encapsulated both our last memory and what I most wanted to do after learning about the passing of her husband, Michael. Later, Sara Secco commissioned me to create a piece of Marina and this story was the inspiration for this piece.
The piece is A3 in size, created by hand on an iPad Pro, professionally printed four ways by an independent British print company, on high quality paper to best show-off the vibrancy of the image.
This print comes with a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity.
